Disabled Access
Coventry Road Medical Centre adheres to the equality act 2010/15 and is aware of the duty placed on it to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, to ensure they are not disadvantaged compared with non-disabled people.
Coventry Road Medical Centre provides the following access easements for patients with needs.
1. Ramp
2. Automatic door
3. Adequate entrance for wheelchair users
4. Lowered automatic button at entrance
5. Wide doors and aisles
6. Disabled toilet with emergency pull cord and staff access
7. Easy to read signage
8. Hearing loop
9 Information regarding external relevant organisations
10. Awareness and sensitivity adopted by staff
11. Appropriate safeguarding needs awareness.
12. The Practice maintains and updates a Mental Health and Learning Disability Register and care plans are updated
13. Needs are recorded at the point of registration. These will also include the need for an interpreter, chaperone and support worker.
Coventry Road Medical Centre is responsive to the on-going process of development in accordance to the needs of its service users and the legislations of the Equality Act.
People with a learning disability
The Practices offers an annual health check and an action plan to address issues in the health check to patients with Learning Disabilities. This is undertaken by the appropriate clinicians and may be with input from the GP a required. A follow up appointment may be offered with a learning disability nurse from the community learning disability team who are specifically trained in enabling people with learning disabilities to access health care. This is part of the enhanced service for people over 14 years of age with a learning disability.
